We embark on an unforgettable four-day journey through the expansive southern Moroccan Sahara, spending nights under the starry sky in bivouacs.
We begin our day with an early morning departure from M'hamid, the gateway to the desert, towards the dunes of Erg Zahar. Our excursion into the Moroccan desert starts with a delightful camel ride to the ancient M'hamid. After exploring the village, we continue our journey in a 4x4 to visit the Marabout of Sidi Naji. Lunch is served in the shade of tamarisk or acacia trees. In the afternoon, we reach Erg Zahar and set up our bivouac upon arrival for the night. The evening is spent around the campfire.
The adventure continues in the southern Moroccan desert as we head towards the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga. We cross the Draa River before stopping for lunch at Erg Chegaga. The afternoon is free to enjoy the magic of the desert and witness its stunning sunset. We spend the night in our bivouac.
We resume our journey to reach the oasis of Lâajirmia, passing through the dried-up lake of Iriqi and Madouar. Our night is spent in the bivouac.
4th Day : Oasis de Lâajirmia - M'hamid. 4-Day Moroccan desert
We begin our return to M'hamid after approximately 4 hours of driving through the Moroccan desert.
